The U.S. Embassy in Jakarta is seeking an individual for the position of Security Investigator in the Regional Security Office and Financial Clerk in the Financial Management Center.



Chauffeur

Basic Function of Position
  • The job holder performs driving duties for Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) for official business.

Qualifications Required

  • Completion of Senior High School / SMU is required.
  • Minimum two years of working experience as a driver is required.
  • Level 2 (Limited Knowledge) speaking/ reading/ writing in English, and Level 3 (Good Working Knowledge) speaking/ reading/ writing in Bahasa Indonesia are required. Language proficiency will be tested.
  • Must be familiar with Jakarta traffic laws and locations of government offices and foreign embassies. Good knowledge of Jakarta metropolitan area roads including alternative roads in order to do emergency evacuation. Well informed about the location of hospital or police station.
  • Must be able to drive all types of vehicles and perform preventive maintenance checks to include adding water and oil as necessary and check tires for condition and proper inflation level.
  • Must have at least A driver’s license (SIM-A) – A copy must be attached to the applications.
  • Salary: ordinarily resident Rp. 48,687, 223- p.a.

Financial Assistant
Basic Function of Position
  • The job holder serves as Financial Assistant/ Budget Analyst on the Department of Justice allotments. As Financial Assistant/ Budget Analyst, s/ he takes an active role in managing and monitoring all assigned allotments/ budgets, maintains records of allotments, and assures appropriate funds control. S/ He interacts directly with key management officials of supported agencies with the primary objective of preparing and disseminating financial reports to agencies, assuring it adheres with U.S. Government standard regulations. Other responsibilities include pre-validation review of documents and assigns fund cites as appropriate, and other special and ad-hoc reports as required by supported agencies, Financial Management Officer, and Management. The job holder works under the direct supervision of the DOJ Program Management Specialist and the Deputy Director of the DOJ/ ICITAP.
Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or closely related field is required.
  • At least two years of progressively responsible experience in professional Accounting, Finance, or closely related field as well as extensive experience in using automated accounting software.
  • Level 3 (Good Working Knowledge) Speaking/ Reading/ Writing in English and Level 4 (Fluent) Speaking/ Reading/ Writing in Bahasa Indonesia are required. Must be able to comprehend and follow complex oral instructions and written guidance. Ability to draft basic memoranda and correspondence. Language proficiency will be tested.
  • Must have a good working knowledge and understanding of professional accounting principles, theories, practices, and terminologies.
  • Ability to analyze numerous accounting records and determine the need for various types or entries and adjustments. Further requires the ability to present facts and recommendations in a clear, concise manner, both orally and in writing especially with non-accounting personnel.
  • Computer literate with knowledge in internet, office computer applications along with productive calculator and typing speed. Typing skill will be tested.

Information Assistant
Basic Function of Position
  • Incumbent is the Press Section's Information Assistant. On a rotational schedule, this position will assume the duties of the Senior Information Specialist in the Press Section. Incumbent's tasks include daily scanning of newspapers, magazines and online news sources. S/ He serves regularly as backup to the Broadcast Information Specialist, facilitates production of daily products including translation and IIP publications translations, and maintains working-level contacts in Indonesian media and engages in contact development within the media community. S/ He also advises the Assistant Information Officer (AIO) and Information Officer (IO) on media matters; provides editor-level translation and quality control for all translated material including in-house publications or vendor-generated content; assists and supports IO and AIO on press events and outreach programs. The Information Assistant acts as an interpreter as needed for VIPs and U.S. Embassy Officers. S/ He briefs the Public Affairs Officer (PAO) and IO on a daily basis.
Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent educational and professional experience in liberal arts, political science, economics, communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, international relations or related field is required.
  • At least three years experience in professional writing, editing and translating article in various fields of interest including politics, economics, education and culture is desirable. 
  • At least level 4 (Fluent) Speaking/ Reading/ Writing English and Bahasa Indonesia are required, especially for translation and evaluating manuscripts in English. Must have excellent knowledge of professional spoken and written Indonesian. Language proficiency will be tested.
  • Advanced knowledge of English and Indonesian grammar, spelling and syntax. Substantial knowledge of U.S. political and social processes. Familiar with book translation processes, Indonesian press and publications and press events.
  • At ease communicating with members of press, government, and public; possessing excellent verbal and written Indonesian skills; able to translate quickly and with a high degree of accuracy; able to plan possessing the combination of sound intellectual judgment, political awareness and professional knowledge necessary to advise on selection and release of materials to media and public. Ability to rewrite and edit texts to ensure readability and literary quality while maintaining integrity of original writing. Ability to excel in high pressure situations.
  • Should have prior experience in office computer applications (word processing, spreadsheet, presentation slides, and emails).
