Assistant Manager, Technical

Purpose
  • Assists the Tooling Manager in ensuring that latest tooling technology is used to develop or commercialize adidas products according to the highest quality and industrial standards.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Product:
    • Assists the Tooling Manager to work with the Development/Commercialization Manager in ensuring that the tooling used in development and commercialization complies with the stated design and development specifications from headquarters.
    • Supports the Tooling Manager to assist the Development/Commercialization Manager in ensuring that tooling.
    • incorporates latest technological developments
    • adheres to specific development / commercialization timelines
    • meets with adidas quality standards and cost efficiency objectives
    • Supports the Tooling Manager in working with mold shops and manufacturers in the continuous upgrade of technical applications and processes and implements them into the tooling facilities.
    • Is aware of adidas brand mission and customer focus; has some knowledge of adidas history and understands the technical direction of the product range.
  • Operations:
    • Supports the Tooling Manager to track the tooling and tooling related processes with factory and mold shops; ensures that tooling development complies with the established development and commercialization timelines.
    • Evaluates tech packages, technical drawings etc to check that they have been correctly processed and include all necessary information.  Evaluates gauges, molds etc to ensure that they meet specifications and adidas quality standards.
    • Supervises the Tooling Engineer on the central filing system for all technical drawings and relevant graded patterns.
    • Supports the Tooling Manager with establishing standards for:
    • Mold technology
    • CAD/CAM and software application
      • The grading system
      • Quality check and correct tooling execution
      • Process-oriented procedures
      • Initiates and participates in mold/ engineering tear-down meetings and follow up communication for the findings among HQ (Headquarter), LO (Liaison Office), factory and mold shop.
      • Assists the Tooling Manager in ensuring health and safety requirements are met and SEA (Social Environmental Affairs) Standard is implemented.
Requisite Education/Experience
  • Bachelor degree in engineering or related major.
  • At least two years working experience in a technical engineering /mold making capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of CAD/CAM processes and applications, handling related software.
  • Knowledge on shoemaking processes and pattern engineering.
  • Must be familiar with adidas policies regarding tooling standards, tooling costs, materials and components, and lab test standards.
Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications
  • Diploma or degree from educational entity preferably in related fields
  • Three years working experience in a technical engineering/mold making capacity.
  • Fluent in English, BULATS level 3 or equivalent.
